My career so far and my goals for the future

In my career to date, I have achieved career-high rankings of 24 in the World and World Number 1 in Juniors. I have won 6 National Titles, 30 International Titles, and 3 World Titles. Additionally, I am honoured to have been named as one of Britain’s most influential people with a disability in the Shaw Trust Power 100. I am currently in full-time training with my sights set on qualifying for the Tokyo 2021 Paralympic Games.

2020

  • Competition schedule cancelled due to Covid-19
  • Completed 3 month strength specific training block during lockdown
  • Recorded PBs in every monitored training test – agility, sprint speed, endurance and strength
  • Signed with Castore as official kit sponsor
  • Partnered with Rangers Football Club

2019

  • Started the year with major surgery following a diagnosis of Crohn’s disease with further complications
  • Returned to competition, and in my first 5 events achieved: 5 International finals, 3 International titles and 2 Runners-up
  • Painted amongst local town icons in my hometown of Worthing by mystery street artist Horace

2018

  • Won bronze with the British Women’s Team at the World Team Cup
  • Named as one of Britain’s Most Influential People with a Disability on the Shaw Trust Power 100
  • Secured sponsorship from the world leading wheelchair manufacturer RGK Wheelchairs.

2017

  • Achieved career high world rankings of 24 in singles and 19 in doubles
  • Won a set against a top 10 ranked opponent for the first time
  • Won the British National Championships in singles and doubles for the third consecutive year

2016

  • Secured career high wins over top 15 ranked opponents for the first time
  • Selected for the British Women’s Team to represent Great Britain at the World Team Cup
  • Agreed partnership with David Lloyd Clubs
  • Won the British National Championships in singles and doubles for the second consecutive year

2015

  • Spent the majority of 2015 in rehabilitation following a severe arm injury obtained in 2014
  • Focused on public speaking career whilst injured
  • Secured ambassadorial role for LTA Tennis Sussex
  • Won the British National Championships in singles and doubles on return to action

2014

  • Completed formal education to enable a full time professional career on the International Women’s Tour
  • Attained career high rankings competing on the International Women’s Tour
  • Invited to France to share my story with Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli
  • Obtained arm injury that would lead to 19 months out of action

2013

  • Achieved Junior World Number 1 ranking
  • Won gold with the British Junior Team at the World Team Cup
  • Won Outstanding Junior Achievement Award – Tennis Sussex Awards
  • Won NWTA Junior Player of the Year Award – National Wheelchair Tennis Association
  • Won NWTA Most Improved Senior Female Player of the Year Award – National Wheelchair Tennis Association

2012

  • Selected to represent Great Britain internationally for the first time
  • Won bronze with the British Junior Team at the World Team Cup
  • Players’ Player of the Year – Tennis Sussex Awards
  • Selected as an Honorary Member of Rotary International
  • Won AEGON Junior Player of the Month Award
  • Won AEGON Team of the Year Award with teammate Alfie Hewett

2011

  • Selected on the National British Talent ID Programme
  • Won multiple national tournaments
  • Selected for the British World Class Programme
  • Won Outstanding Achievement Award – Tennis Sussex Awards
  • Won Disabled Sports Personality of the Year Award – Sussex National Sports Awards
